New Baby GIRL!

We would like to introduce: Hazel June Hardy! The newest addition to our family. She was 8.5 lbs., 19.5 inches long and has a head of brown hair. She has been a super sweet girl so far. Dillan acknowledged her existence and has a pretty melancholy attitude about her so far. We really appreciate Grandma Hardy for getting Dillan in the wee hours of the morning.

Additional Stats:

-Labor duration: from 2:30am until 4:37am (yes, it was about 2 hours from when she woke me up to when the baby came out!)

-Dillan and Hazel were both born 3 days overdue, but had very different birth durations/experiences.

Zoo trip on Baby Eve

Today was discount Tuesday at the Zoo. It was freezing (it was snowing in Salem when we got home), so nobody was there, and the baby is due tomorrow, but we had such a fantastic time! Look how close he is to that leopard!
Dillan loves to take his socks off his feet and put them on his hands.

My pregnant self at 39 weeks (one week ago).
On New Year's Day we took a trip with Grandma and Grandpa Hardy and Uncle Josh. We went to the Tillamook Cheese factory and the Newport Beach Aquarium. We also went whale watching at Depoe Bay, but we didn't have binoculars so we couldn't see them.

Oregonians are into recycling. This is the display outside of the Aquarium, it's made completely of trash found on the beach.

Dillan checking out his old carseat before we installed it in preparation for his baby sister's arrival. He was really upset when I made him get out. He would have sat in there all day!

Dillan is getting too smart for us! He pulled that onto his lap, opened it, and pushed the power button. Once the log-in screen came up he turned it off and started back at step 1!

Dillan discovered pockets over Christmas break. Pants, coats, on him, me or Kyle! When he can't find his back pocket his hands usually end up in his diaper, which he thinks is the right place!
You can't see it, but Dillan is popping the bubbles that land on the ground. It's the only way he wants to play with bubbles, popping them with a 2 lb weight.
Where does he come up with this material? Float my boat!

Finals Week

Can you tell which one has finals and which one doesn't? They are both studying so determinedly!
Dillan doing safety inspection on baby sister's bed.
One of our biggest expenses (other than tuition) has been acquiring a business wardrobe for Kyle. He looks good!

I think the stress of finals made them a little crazy!

Priceless Moments

Priceless words from my talking almost-2-year-old:
"Hoppity Hop," when daddy read to him about Tigger today.
"Please Help": He actually says this all the time, and I love it! He loves snapping together the straps of his booster chair, but he always wants to unsnap and do it again, it's the unsnapping he needs help with.
"More Lettuce": He said this while holding his plate out for us to refill it!

Serious about learning!

Dillan is playing while we pack to visit the Hardys for Thanksgiving in Troutdale, OR. Yes, that is a mixing bowl on his head. And yes, he sat there for at least 5 minutes zipping and unzipping the pocket of the suitcase.

Dillan's pre-Thanksgiving snack, a cookie. And what did he eat for dinner? Almost nothing! He was too excited about playing with his cousins.

Day after Thanksgiving: Daddy, really tired. Dillan, trying to be like Daddy.

Dillan and Daddy watching TV. Very intense.

Concentrating on "homework."

8 months: profile and front view. People tell me I'm small...they should try living like this.

Dillan is so strong!

If you can't tell, he's in his church clothes. He found the life vest on his own, begged us to put it on, then walked around the apartment with his arms tucked in!
